The Entertainment Blogger Award

I’m sorry for the major delay in posting this. I wanted to be able sit down with a cup of tea and give the questions the time they deserve. I seem to have been doing a lot of late shifts at work lately and a lot of my blog posts this past week have been written on my cell phone while on the bus! A huuuuuuuuge thanks to Birdie Bookworm for nominating me. I’m so honored. It’s lovely to know people find some entertainment in the craziness that is I swoon over fictional, non-human men.

THE QUESTIONS

Q1. Why did you start a blog in the first place?

I’d been wanting to start a blog for months. The idea planted itself in my head while I was living in Japan. I realized that paranormal romance wasn’t a genre that people paid much heed to and having read so many fantastic books that fell under that category, I really wanted to help change that. The only thing standing in my way was the fact that I worked 45 hour weeks and was too tired to do anything on the weekend aside from reading and karaoke! However, upon my return to the UK, I was unemployed for two months and decided it was the perfect way to fill a chunk in my suddenly empty schedule.

Q2. What is your favorite book?

That’s a difficult question…I have a different favorite book for each genre! My favorite paranormal romance book, for example, is the entirety of Nalini Singh’s Guildhunter series. If you were to ask me what my favorite horror book is, though, I’d have to say Stephen King’s The Shining. If we were talking about crime fiction,  John Connolly’s Charlie Parker series. Historical drama? The Help by Kathryn Stockett. Argh, this is such an open ended question! One does not simply pick a single favorite book 😉

Q3. What do you dislike the most?

*checks watch* How much time do you have? Working in customer service has broken me; there’s soooooooo much that I dislike! I hate/fucking despise random men approaching the bar at work and winking at me while calling me stupid pet names like “sweetheart” or “love”. Back off, buddy. The only people allowed to call me either of those names are fictional! I also dislike other people’s bodily hair clogging shower drains. I have my own shower now but I used to live in a house with five other people, four of whom had very long hair. Just picture me yanking long, sodden hair from the drain while dry retching. I also dislike high cistern toilets. As a kid I used to think they looked somewhat humanoid and would always visualize the cistern leaning over me on its long, pipey neck and striking me like a venomous snake. That image has stuck with me ever since. Thankfully I don’t live in early 20th century England and rarely come across one. When I do, someone usually has to accompany me and hold my hand and sing to me. Haha. You think I’m joking *shudders*

Q4. What is your favorite food item from the mall?

McDonald’s hash browns. That was my final meal before I flew out to Japan.

Q5. What is your favorite pastime?

Reading 😉 I also enjoy blogging and writing fiction and poetry. And dancing around the house in my underwear while listening to heavy metal at inappropriate volumes. Additionally, on the more normal side of things, I enjoy visiting historical sites such as museums and old castles.

  1. If you dislike hair clogging the drain then does your hair not fall off? *jealous because my hair falls during rinse and I have to catch them because once it clogged the drains, it groses me out too! 😂 thanks for nominating me!

    1. I usually just wait until somebody else cleans the drain 😛 My hair’s quite short at the moment so it’s not too bad.

It’s strange, isn’t it? When the hair’s on our head we love it , yet the moment it falls off and clogs a drain we look at it in disgust 😛

      No worries!

    1. Japan was incredible! I was living there for about 14 months. It was so different to anything I’d ever known and it was a fantastic experience 🙂 I still miss it sometimes but I’m grateful for the extra free time I have now. The Japanese work ethic is insane!

      1. I’d love to visit Japan! Or anywhere overseas actually lol. I’ve never been out of the United States. I’ve only left my Tri-State area once a year a year for Florida and that’s about it. I wish I could travel!!

      2. I hear the United States is quite an amazing place to travel around, though 😀 From what I’ve heard each state seems like a country in itself with different climates and traditions etc 🙂 You should totally visit the UK if you ever get chance! I’d show you all the sights 😀

      3. The US is nice! I love it here. But I would like to see other parts of the world too. The UK being one of them. 😊

  2. For the favorite book question, I always think, if this was Fahrenheit 451, and I had to select a book to memorize and pass on, which one would it be? (Mine would probably be The Great Gatsby; Fitzgerald’s writing is elegant and beautiful and amazing.)

    1. Oo I read The Great Gatsby a few years back! Excellent read 😀 It was just before the movie adaptation with Leonardo DiCaprio was released and I was determined to read the book first!
