Terms of endearment: ‘love’

I’ve noticed in many paranormal romance novels, the endearment ‘love’ is often used. It’s a term that has people going weak at the knees while their insides turn to mush (metaphorically at least) and it’s seen as sweet and precious…

…here in the UK, the only people who call me ‘love’ are overweight, balding men leaning out their car windows shouting “Oi,  luv. Show us y’tits.” or men crowding the bar at work demanding to be served.

I wish I lived where these authors live.

    1. Ah yes, red heads are quite fearsome πŸ˜› I used to be a red head and it gave me a lot more bad-assery than my natural blond does ;P Yeah, you’re right. Still, I can fantasize about a world where men call me ‘love’ in a completely non-creepy way!
